There’s more to college than what you can learn in a textbook. This summer, broaden your social, civic, and global views about community, country, and the world.
Summer special programs feature courses focusing on real issues that impact communities and societies. Civic engagement, service learning, internships and research opportunities are available to complement coursework. Start in the classroom – then make a meaningful contribution beyond it.
Learning Beyond the Classroom:
Students enrolled in specific courses are encouraged to apply for community-based internships with Baltimore City organizations. Scholarships are available to cover the cost of summer internship credits. List of eligible courses coming soon. Application deadline: May 15.
Summer Service Learning
Make a meaningful contribution through service learning. Education, environmental, food and housing support, healthcare and mental health placements are available.
Project-based summer courses will provide humanities and social science research opportunities based on relevant course topics. Students will learn effective research and documentation strategies and have an opportunity to present their findings. Among the courses utilizing experiential learning are AMST 380, GES 342, ART 329, GWST 210, and SOCY 354.
