Radically Connected in Baltimore: Persons With Disabilities and Progressive Arts Practices

August 12, 2020 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Make Studio, founded in Baltimore in 2010, is one of the few art centers for persons with disabilities in the nation. Dr. Scheibler, Make Studio cofounder, will discuss her studio’s take on “progressive practices” and how other types of groups can use them too, examples of the art made by its 37 participating artists, and how Make Studio and its artists are adapting to life during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Bio: Jill Scheibler hails from Havre de Grace, MD and has been a proud Baltimorean for the past 18 years. She is a community psychologist, program evaluator, and licensed, board-certified art therapist. She is the cofounder and Operations & Program Director of Make Studio, and this fall formally joins the faculty of Notre Dame of MD University’s Art Therapy Department. She previously taught as associate faculty for NDMU as well as UMBC’s Psychology Department.
