There’s an App for That How to Explore Baltimore’s Heritage on Your Own
July 13, 2020
Are you itching to take some walking tours this summer, but aren’t sure how to do so since we can’t gather in groups? Do you ever promise yourself you’ll “look it up” when you get home, but then it slips your mind? Join Johns Hopkins, Executive Director of Baltimore Heritage, as he takes us on a virtual tour of the Baltimore region with the “Explore Baltimore Heritage App,” an interactive way to discover the city and surrounding areas, including UMBC. Use your phone to “tour” the city, click on historic landmarks, and learn the stories behind the history. You’ll also learn about the important role that UMBC students and faculty have played in developing the the app. You’ll never see Baltimore in quite the same way again!
Bio: Johns Hopkins has been the executive director of Baltimore Heritage since 2003. Before that, Johns worked for the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development developing and implementing smart growth and neighborhood revitalization programs.
